Hello, Q3
Monday marks the beginning another Web Development quarter at Code Academy. It’s our third quarter since our inaugural class in October, 2011.
Each quarter, our students learn how to create web applications. But we also learn new and better ways of presenting and organizing the mountain of information, skills, and mental hurdles that our students must climb in just 11 weeks.
Q1 was a blast: everything was new, our students exhibited passion beyond our expectations, and a solid foundation had been built.
Q2 brought swift and remarkable changes. We held classes overlooking Lake Michigan from the iconic John Hancock Center, launched our UX and HTML/CSS offerings taught by the fantastic Carolyn Chandler and the awesome Shay Howe, and finished with a riveting Demo Day that served as the best opening event for 1871 that I can think of.
Now in its third quarter, the Web Development course continues full steam ahead: brand-new workshops and resources for students, wonderful mentors, learning architecture wisdom from Adam, and two of the best co-instructors I wish for: Neal and Raghu.
Every quarter brings new students, new ideas, new challenges, new mistakes, new failures, all of which lead to new learning.
Hello Q3.
